The Coman KX3939 is a compact tripod that s half midrange, half entry-level, with decent quality metal hardware at the leg hinge and, a bit inexplicably, plastic leg locks. The metal is that mysterious painted-surface stuff that Amazon listings like to call aluminum, but is almost certainly some sort of motley alloy, so don t expect miracles- but the whole thing is reasonably sturdy. The head- called a Video Ballhead despite not having a ball- is pretty well damped, and the locks are good. This tripod is not going to change your life, unless your life s dream is to own a tripod that ll last you a couple of years. But if you need a well-priced video tripod of decent quality, this one could do the trick.
